Situated between Skerries and Balbriggan towns in North Co Dublin, Ireland, Ardgillan Castle and Demesne is well worth a visit. The Castle was built in 1738 by Robert Taylor. It is open to the public and a guided tour is recommended.
For photographers the grounds are a 'must see' with beautiful scenery wherever you turn.
The Mountains of Mourne can be seen from Ardgillan and the lyrics to the famous song were written by Percy French when sitting in Skerries looking out over the sea towards them.

Tractors waiting at the Ladies Stairs for the workmen to return. The Ladies Stairs gets its name from the ghostly figure of a lady who people say can be seen here from time to time. It is believed to be that of Louisa Augusta Rowley (Lady Langford) who tragically drowned nearby in 1853.
Planes cross in the sky above Ardgillan. It is always worthwhile to look up and to have a camera ready, any camera. This was taken with my iPhone 4S camera. I should always carry my Canon Powershot S95 with me but sometimes I forget.
