Alaska is a wonderful place to visit. We first travelled there in 2002 for a diving holiday. We flew into Juneau and spent a couple of days there before we joined the Nautilus Explorer for our diving holiday.
The famous Mendenhall Glacier is only 12 miles outside Juneau and we hired a car to visit it. The following year we returned to Juneau and this time, along with some others, we hired a helicopter to see it from the air and to land on it. What an incredible experience.
The photographs in this Gallery were taken with an Olympus camera using a waterproof case and powerful flash for the underwater ones.

Juneau is at sea level and is surrounded by beautiful mountains. In the distance you can just see the Juneau-Douglas bridge, which joins Douglas Island in the Alexander Archipelago with mainland Alaska.
